  • What types of issues can be addressed in facilitation?

We assist with team conflict, decision-making challenges, communication breakdowns, and strategic planning discussions.

  • What is the difference between mediation and facilitation?

Mediation is used when there is a conflict or dispute between two or more parties. The mediator helps the participants communicate, clarify issues, and work toward a mutually acceptable agreement, which if signed, becomes legally binding/enforceable. The main focus of mediation is resolving a specific problem or dispute. In contrast, facilitation is used when a group needs support having a productive discussion, often around decision-making, planning, or navigating a challenging topic. While mediation aims to resolve conflict, facilitation helps groups work together more effectively, even if conflict is not present.

  • Is mediation legally binding?

Agreements reached in mediation can be made legally binding if the parties choose to formalize them, often via submitting the agreement you come up with to the court in your respective jurisdiction.

  • How is conflict coaching different from therapy?

Conflict coaching focuses on specific conflict-related challenges and skill development. It is not clinical therapy or mental health treatment.

  • How many conflict coaching sessions will I need?

It varies by situation. Some clients benefit from one session; others work with us over several weeks to prepare for or process conflict.
